Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Chino Residents Directory. By using the reference, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the service.

1. What This Reference Is

Chino Residents Directory is a privately operated reference about public rolls, indexes, directories, portals, and archival collections connected with Chino, California and San Bernardino County. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with the City of Chino, the county, any California agency, any court, any library, or a records custodian.

2. Permitted and Prohibited Use

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:

  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm a person.
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order.
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act.
  • Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish site material at scale.
  • Disrupt the service, evade security, or interfere with its operation.

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Nothing displayed here, and no result returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. None may be used to evaluate eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. External Portals and Links

County, city, state, court, library, archive, USPS, and sponsored search services have separate terms, prices, availability, and privacy practices. Chino Residents Directory does not control those services and is not responsible for their content, outages, data handling, or result quality.

5. No Warranties

The reference is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that a statement, link, fee, portal, coverage year, library holding, or search result is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of this reference or an external resource, including a decision made from a record reached through it.

7. Your Responsibility to Indemnify

You agree to defend and indemnify the operators from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Copyright and Site Material

The original writing, design, logo, and layout belong to their respective rights holders and are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed excerpt is welcome. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not permitted without authorization.

9. Updates to These Terms

The operators may revise these terms by posting a new version on this page. Continued use after a revision signifies acceptance of the revised terms to the extent the law permits.

10. Restricting Access

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms, abuses the service, threatens another person, or attempts to defeat technical safeguards. This action may occur without advance notice.

11. California Law Controls

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without applying conflict-of-law principles. Public-record references on the service point to the California Public Records Act, recodified at Government Code §§7920.000-7931.000. The California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, Civil Code §1798.100 et seq., apply where their coverage and exceptions make them applicable. Court case access, voter records, vital certificates, and protected-address programs remain subject to their own statutes and custodian rules.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in force.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Record requests themselves must be directed to the government office, court, library, or archive that holds the material.
